FAQs

An engagement ring is a piece of jewellery given to someone at the time of the wedding request/proposal. These rings can vary a lot in model and price, but the most traditional engagement ring is usually composed by a lovely gem or brilliant diamond in a precious metal hoop.

Traditionally, women receive the engagement ring and the use of the ring tells the world that she is committed to her partner. The solitaire is worn on the fourth finger of the left hand. Things are currently changing and some men also wear engagement rings, but usually without stones or diamonds.

Wedding rings are exchanged by the partners during the wedding ceremony. Generally, they are simpler jewellery (simpler design), when compared to an engagement ring. Usually, wedding rings are a band of gold or silver and can be thick or thin in shape. Wedding rings do not have a diamond or central gem. Both men and the woman wear wedding rings on the fourth finger of the left hand

There are no rules regarding the size of the diamond. This will depend on your budget and the chosen design. Remember the principles of the four C's for grading a diamond? carat, clarity, colour, and cut. Starting with carat, which is the quality of the stone – a unit of weight for precious stone and pearls, equivalent to 200 milligrams- we offer diamond stones from a fifth of a carat (0.20 cts) upwards.

The cut is another factor to be considered, as it is what determines how brilliant a diamond will be. The brighter the diamond, the bigger it appears to be. So it is not just about size, it has to do with making the right choice. That is, you can purchase a smaller stone but still with an excellent cut and thus get a beautiful and quality ring for a good price.

Have fun with your partner looking in Jewellers’ windows and/or browsing on the internet to get an idea of the style she might like as well as the average price. We also recommend that you look for a jewellery designer that works with quality certified diamonds and the principles of the four C's for grading a diamond: carat, clarity, colour, and cut.

If you are planning to surprise your girlfriend, make sure about her taste and style. The design options on offer are numerous with rings ranging from simple to extravagant. But with some subtle research about the accessories that your future bride wears most days, you can find out what your girlfriend’s style is.

Regardless of your future bride’s style, what matters most is that you surprise her with a completely original engagement ring, of high quality and tailor-made to suit her taste and personality.

The first thing to do is to pay attention to see if she is in the habit of wearing accessories. If she usually wears rings, even if it's on the right hand, you can use it as a guideline. If this is not the case, if your girlfriend does not wear jewellery, you will need the help of her mother or sister, or even her best friend. Or in the very least you can hold her hand, slyly put a string on it so that you can have a clearer idea of her finger size, which will give you a better guess.

White gold is the most used metal in the making of engagement rings because of its value (high quality of gold) and due to its lasting beauty. White gold also accentuates the brilliance of diamonds as it does not reflect colour through the stone. That is, it allows the wearer to honour tradition without compromising on the beauty of the jewel.

We offer one free resizing. The reason for this is because as experts in handcrafted rings we don’t recommend more than one resizing because frequent changes impact the overall strength and shape of the ring.
